Life of Late

I've sure been late getting around to fishing; I've barely done any in the past four weeks. That's something akin to going four days without drinking water--I'm beginning to die, and I can feel it. Before you accuse me of being over-dramatic...well, you just have to know I'm not being!

I've been doing a ton of work on the house, specifically a nursery--I'll be a dad to a son sometime around June 29th this year. That means I have to gut and rebuild a bedroom for the little guy. And that means, of course, I don't have much time left over to fish. But, I suppose that's alright. :)

I'm also trying to spend as much time with my new pup, who is now grown to a whopping 30 pounds at about 18 weeks old. She's a trip, for sure!

I'll have more stories, photos, and whatever else next week that I'll be anxious to get out for all of you.

To all my new followers--I am really glad you are coming along for the ride! I'll get to putting up links to your blogs and am looking forward to browsing over some new-to-me blogs. Thanks for the comments!

Congrats on the becoming a new future Dad. Hate to tell you be your fishing may be limited some when the little comes along. Looking forward to some of those fising trips soon. By the way Chris has been stocking up on ultralight fly rods. Making me jealous.

  2. Congrats on being a Dad. I have two kids. One daughter and the other a son. Both are enjoyable in their own ways. Remember you will also want to kill them at times as well. I also have two labs. One is black and the other is yellow and both are around 100 pounds a piece. Your fishing may be limited now but as he gets older it will get better. My daughter who is 16 now fishes with me. She tried fly fishing last year for the first time and loved it. My son is 4 but already wants to learn. It is great to take them along and share in the experience.

  4. Cheryl--its not hard to get that guilty look; she does spend most of her time guilty, as you know.

Bill--Thanks and I am definitely looking forward to future trips down south. I was just thinking about Smith the other day. The closer we get to spring up here the more I'm thinking about Bass. Would love to get into the Spots you have down there!

Jeff--Labs really are great, arent they? I'm really stoked to hear you have your kids out and they're enjoying and wanting more. I wish I could have learned more as a kid. Fly fishing is more like a language than we give it credit for, and man oh man is childhood prime for learning that!
