I received this as a part of a packet of information for the
Missouri Stream Team startup I'm a part of along with
Chris and
Ronnie. I found this extremely interesting and very helpful, especially how it organizes the various insects/crustaceans by their pollution tolerance. One wonders what "pollution" consists of here and how broadly or narrowly that term is being used, but it still gives an informative overview of the situation. Hopefully you find it equally enjoyable!
NO FAIR!!! I didn't get one of those!

ReplyDeleteSign up for the free classes and MDC will teach you how to sample streams for bugs, test water quality, flow rates etc. You'll also get all the sampling and testing equipment.
Many state have modeled programs after Missouri's. It's also a great to teach kids the importance of water quality.
Check out this card from the CT DEP

Sweet bug chart. I am clueless when it comes to names and identifying certain bugs. Thanks for sharing. Tight Lines.
ReplyDeleteChris, I think you can find them online at the MST page.
